Cowan Railroad Museum
Historic Depot
Housed inside the beautifully restored historic Cowan Depot, the Cowan Railroad Museum celebrates the town's deep connection to Tennessee's railroad heritage. Visitors can explore exhibits filled with railroad artifacts, memorabilia, and a detailed model train layout, then step outside to see historic locomotives, a caboose, and other rail equipment on display.
The museum grounds, known as Railroad Park, also feature a replica of Franklin County's first courthouse and overlook an active CSX rail line, where freight trains regularly pass through the historic rail town. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Cowan Railroad Museum is a must-visit for railroad enthusiasts.
