Machine Falls

Machine Falls is located inside the 420-acre Short Springs State Natural Area just outside of town. The 60-foot waterfall spills across a wide rock face and is reached by a scenic forest trail with rocky, sometimes steep sections near the falls. Short Springs is also home to Adams Falls and Upper and Lower Busby Falls, along with several interconnected hiking trails, making it easy to turn a visit to Machine Falls into a longer outdoor adventure. Parking is limited, so visiting early or on a weekday is recommended.
