Minnie Pearl Statue
Honoring Minnie Pearl
Centerville proudly celebrates its most famous native, Minnie Pearl, with a bronze statue on the Hickman County Courthouse Square. Installed in 2020 and created by artist Jennifer Grisham, the sculpture shows Minnie seated on a bench in her signature hat and price tag, inviting visitors to sit beside her for photos and enjoy a moment with a true Tennessee icon.
An earlier grapevine and chicken wire sculpture by local artist Ricky Pittman was moved from the square to Centerville Bluff Garden, where it stood atop a boulder overlooking the landscape. After being damaged by vandalism, the piece was removed for repairs and is currently not on display, with no set timeline for its return. Even so, the story of both sculptures reflects Centerville’s enduring pride in the humor and legacy of its hometown star.
